Research Interests:
Better understanding emerging opportunistic pathogens (EOPs) within drinking water treatment systems and their risk to public health. This can be understood in part by exploring: (1) shifts in EOP abundance between the distribution system system microbiome and the premise plumbing microbiome, (2) competition and cooperation among EOPs under varying conditions, (3) quantitative microbial risk assessments of EOPs that capture risk towards multiple populations (healthy and immunocompromised).
